As Seattle's first social realtor, every sale with Chapman Homes helps a person in need at no additional cost to you. See how it works HERE
Congrats to my clients Juan and Amanda! It was such a pleasure helping you find a home. Thanks to your home purchase, you have become a HERO to a woman in need. Your purchase generated a donation to one of Chapman Homes non-profit partners, Street Bean Coffee, who helps provide job training for homeless youth. Aura (see story below) has experienced many tough circumstances but she is beginning to flourish, and you are now a part of that story!
In the Fall of 2017, Aura started as an apprentice at Street Bean and began her journey in the coffee world. Throughout her 6-month training, she learned how to work and grow as a barista. Reflecting on her apprenticeship with Street Bean Aura made the comment that being in the shop every day allowed her to be a part of a transforming experience. This is the hope for every apprentice that comes through Street Bean.
It is always a special day when participants move from living on the streets and shelters too long term housing. Not every apprentice is as fortunate to find housing so quickly, especially in Seattle's challenging housing market. For those struggling to a long term, home Aura says the experience usually includes a lot of bouncing around and not enough support. This is scary, it's hard, and it can be lonely.
After graduating from the Fall 2017 cohort of apprentices at Street Bean, Aura was offered a job as a Barista and continued to work hard and offer stellar customer service in addition to a great cup of coffee. Her outstanding work ethic and can-do attitude lead Aura to full-time employment after just nine months of being on staff. She quickly became one of the lead anchors behind the bar, and now after two years, Aura has become the store Lead at the Belltown location. She handles all the day to day operations with grace, and she does an excellent job keeping the customers happy and the coffee flowing. In addition to this, she is now training incoming apprentices so that they too can experience transformation.
Aura's story is what we hope for with every apprentice at Street Bean. With the continued support of our community like you, we will continue to create change in the lives of some of Seattle's most vulnerable population and help end chronic homelessness. Thank you for supporting Street Bean and for helping change the landscape of our city.
Matthew Chapman works hard to make your home buying or selling experience enjoyable and gives part of every commission to help a person in need.
